-A +A
Ronald Lawrence has been named Rocklin’s next police chief. Effective April 1, Lawrence will assume the title of police chief, following current Police Chief Mark Siemens’ retirement March 31. Lawrence has served as captain with Rocklin Police Department since June 2006. He began his career in law enforcement in March 1990 having served the citizens of Rocklin since June 2006 when he assumed the role of Division Commander, Rank of Captain. Lawrence brings to Rocklin a record of exceptional service, experience and education having served in multiple departments within California. Lawrence holds a Master of Arts degree in Leadership from Saint Mary’s College in California and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Union Institute and University. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of PEACE for Families, a nonprofit organization serving Placer County’s sexual assault and domestic violence center. An FBI National Academy graduate, Lawrence has demonstrated personal accountability, high ethical standards and sound leadership principles and is well prepared to not only lead the Rocklin Police Department now and into the future, but will be a contributing member of the Rocklin Senior Management Team, according to the release from the city. Lawrence succeeds Siemens, who served the city of Rocklin as police chief for nearly a decade. Lawrence was chosen from multiple candidates including Captain Daniel Ruden. ~Staff report
