At 8:40 a.m., two men were seen breaking into a car parked in front of a store in the 900 block of Pleasant Grove Blvd. According to the Roseville Police Department, the alleged thieves stole a laptop computer. A witness to the crime began following the suspects in their vehicle, until they stopped in a nearby residential neighborhood and placed the stolen laptop on the ground. The suspects then drove away. The witness contacted police and helped get the missing laptop back to its rightful owner. Roseville police are investigating the crime.
Around 11:05 p.m., a Roseville police officer was patrolling Douglas Boulevard and saw a vehicle "peel out" with its tires spinning near the Interstate 80 intersection. According to police, the officer stopped the car on Sunrise, discovering it was listed as stolen from Grass Valley. Police searched the vehicle and found prescription narcotics, methamphetamine, heroin and drug paraphernalia. Both occupants of the car — a 54-year-old man and 34-year-old man from Grass Valley — were arrested on a host of charges. Roseville police said the two suspects were also arrested for stealing merchandise from an electronics store in Roseville earlier that day.
At 9:10 p.m., a Roseville resident returned to his home on Glenbrook Avenue to discover someone burglarizing it. Roseville police said when the victim attempted to confront the burglars, one of them swung a stolen pellet rifle at him. The victim was struck in the legs. Both suspects fled the confrontation on foot, running south onto Blue Springs Way in Citrus Heights. The first suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male between the ages of 18 and 24. He is believed to be 5 feet, 10 inches tall with short, dark-colored hair. The other suspect is a male also believed to be 5 feet, 10 inches tall. Police said the burglars forced opened a side door, stealing numerous items including two computer monitors.
A 32-year-old Antelope man was arrested for allegedly stealing a Saturn vehicle sometime between 1 and 5 a.m. from the 100 block of Birch Street. Roseville police said the suspect was arrested on Antelope Road near Walerga Road with help from the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department. He was booked into jail on charges of vehicle theft.
Around 4:30 p.m., Roseville police officers noticed a vehicle with no license plates parked in front of a convenience store on the 100 block of Darling Way. Officers ran a check, learning that the vehicle had been reported stolen earlier that morning from Citrus Heights. Officers arrested the driver, a 29-year-old man from Citrus Heights.
At 11:20 p.m., Roseville police officers responded to a fraud call. A female victim had attempted to sell a used iPhone on Craigslist, and had met with the male buyer in the area of Fifth Street and E Street. The supposed buyer took the victim’s phone and paid with two fake $100 bills. Roseville police investigated and eventually arrested a 32-year-old man who lives in the area for conspiracy to commit a crime. They also arrested 25-year-old man for theft, passing counterfeit bills and violation of parole.
Around 6:50 p.m., a Roseville man was robbed while walking on Alta Avenue near Grove Street. Roseville police said two suspects pulled up next to the victim in an older white four-door sedan. The assailants grabbed the victim, rifling through his pockets while taking his cell phone and ID card. The suspects are described as a Hispanic male and a white male, both between the ages 18 or 19. The Hispanic suspect is 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 125 pounds. He was wearing a black hat with a red brim and a black and gray striped sweater. The white suspect weighs around 150 pounds and was wearing a white shirt.
