The city of Rocklin is seeking applications from residents interested in serving four-year terms on a variety of city committees, boards and commissions.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, live within the city limits, be a registered voter and be willing to serve a four-year term to expire Dec. 31, 2016, or until a successor is appointed. The Planning Commission meets twice a month and each meeting requires several hours of preparation, reading staff reports, related material and visiting proposed development sites. The various other committees, boards and commissions usually meet once a month, or as necessary, and each requires various degrees of preparation, depending on the complexity of the particular issues under consideration.

All committees, boards and commissions serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council and administrative officials. Compensation, if any, is established by resolution of the City Council. All appointees are required to complete a two-hour ethics training program upon appointment and every other year.

Applications are available from the city clerk, 3980 Rocklin Road, or at and must be submitted to the clerk’s office by 5 p.m. Nov. 15. City Hall hours are 8 a.m. to noon and 1-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
