While the focus over the next few months will be the race for the office of President, Rocklin voters will also be bombarded with information about local candidates. Mailboxes will soon fill up with information (some good, some bad, some accurate and some riddled with misinformation) about candidates. Perhaps the biggest challenge will be selecting three candidates out of the field of eight competing for a seat on the Rocklin City Council. In an effort to help readers get to know the candidates, starting with this issue we will present a series profiling the candidates and their positions on issues that impact the city. In the interim, we welcome your letters detailing why you’re backing a candidate. It’s your opportunity to spell out the reasons you are supporting a candidate. In order to get your letters published, however, we ask that you honor our letters to editor policy. If you’re backing a candidate, submit your letter by Oct. 18 for publication in the Oct. 25 edition. Only letters rebutting an already published letter will be printed in the Oct. 31 edition. We will limit each writer to one letter a month, so pick your cause carefully. Don’t be afraid to get involved this election season. Your opinion as well as your vote counts! ________ Let your voice be heard We want to publish your letters, but they must include your first and last name, city you live in, a daytime phone number, and be limited to 250 words or less.
