Rocklin High School graduate James Watkins has joined Vox Public Relations Public Affairs in its Portland, Ore., office. In his new role, he is responsible for providing writing and research account support and executing strategic communications tactics for clients.
Watkins joined Vox in April 2012 as an intern while completing a bachelor’s degree in public relations at the University of Oregon. He also studied Middle Eastern culture and became proficient in Arabic.
Prior to coming to Vox, Watkins interned with the Naseej Foundation in Amman, Jordan, providing writing, editing and translation support. Watkins also worked as an intern for the Teaching Effectiveness Program run through the University of Oregon, developing communication plans, providing writing support and managing social media platforms for the organization.
