When the girls basketball teams from Roseville and Woodcreek High get together in the Woodcreek gym Thursday night there will be a lot of the line in terms of playoff positioning. Woodcreek needs to keep winning to gain a top four seed and keep on track for two home games in the postseason. Roseville needs a win badly just to try to get into the playoffs. It will be senior night for the Timberwolves, as eight seniors will play their final home game. This game, however is about much more than that. It is Pink Zone night, and for the third consecutive year, Woodcreek will be raising funds and awareness about the fight against breast cancer. The festivities will include a silent auction and raffle prizes throughout all three games (the freshmen play at 4:30, the JV at 6 and the varsity at 7:30 p.m.). Sacramento Rivercat mascot Dinger, Chik Fillet, Kat Madru and others will be there as well. Proceeds from the night's events benefit the Kay Yow Foundation, The Placer County Breast Cancer Endowment and the Lady Timberwolves basketball team. Cash donations are also welcomed.
