Rocklin Police and Fire are investigating a shakedown scheme that involved a fireworks stand and a man posing as a Rocklin firefighter. About 6:30 p.m. on June 30, an unknown subject who identified himself as a Rocklin Fire employee approached a fireworks stand on Lonetree Boulevard operated by River City Designated Drivers of Sacramento. According to the police report, he told the stand volunteer that they owed money for an inspection. That’s when the employee gave him a check for $200. Rocklin police and fire officials are now investigating the incident. ~ Jon Brines
