Rocklin Police are investigating into shots allegedly fired into the air by Placer County Sheriff’s Lt. John Savage at his Rocklin home. According to Rocklin Police Lt. Lon Milka, the department doesn’t “have any information as to why the shots were made.” Neighbors who heard the gunshots called 911 at 9:43 p.m. Oct. 8, Milka said. Milka said neighbors said they heard five or six gunshots fired in their Lakebreeze Drive neighborhood in Rocklin, but there has not been a conclusive number reported by the police. Once the investigators with the Rocklin Police Department have finished their investigation, the information will be forwarded to the Placer County District Attorney’s office, Milka said. Discharging a firearm into the air could lead to death or injury. Milka said no injuries were reported. ~Lauren Gibbs
