Rocklin Police are asking for assistance in finding the individual or individuals responsible for several apparently random shooting incidents over the weekend, including one in Loomis. Around 2 a.m. on Friday, Rocklin Police received reports of gunshots in the area of Sunset Boulevard and Fairway Drive. A few minutes later, police responded to a call of a shooting at Stanford Ranch Road and Park Drive. Officers arrived and found a vehicle with a single bullet hole near the front of the car on the driver’s side. Neither the passenger nor the driver was injured, reported Lt. Lon Milka. According to the victims, the suspect vehicle was described as a newer-looking black or dark-colored Ford Crown Victoria. “We have no idea how many people were in the car,” Milka said. The victim did not observe a gun, but heard the bullet hit his vehicle as the Crown Victoria drove by in the opposite direction, Lt. Milka added. At approximately 1:45 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the call of shots fired in the area of Stanford Ranch road and Park Drive. Officers found numerous bullet holes in the rear of the house. While several penetrated into the home, no one was injured, Milka said. Several shell casings, the same caliber as in the previous night’s shootings, were found in the roadway. Placer County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the report of shots fired in Loomis at 1 a.m. Deputies located several bullet holes, including one through the front door, at the Shell Gas Station on Taylor Road. The shell casings recovered from the three incidents are being analyzed for evidence. “We do believe it was the same person doing all these (shootings),” he said. Anyone with information about these shootings is asked to call the Rocklin Police Department at 625-5400.
