The Pioneer Quilters Guild will host the 13th annual quilt show Nov. 10 & 11 at a new and larger location this year – the Roseville Sports Center in Mahany Regional Park.

As a no-profit organization, the basic mission of the guild is to sponsor education meetings and the knowledge of quilting. The guild also provides community service through the distribution of quilts, Christmas stockings, pillowcases and other items to organizations that help children, teenagers and adults in transition. Donations go to pediatric and neo-natal units in hospitals, and to other charitable organizations.

The quilt show will feature more than 150 quilts on display and an additional 75 for sale. There will also be a small section of junior quilts. The guild’s Opportunity Quilt, “Festival of Stars,” will be on display. The raffle drawing for the quilt will be held during the guild’s Dec. 3 general meeting. Also on display will be the Challenge Quilts as well as community service projects.

The Basket Raffle has been another popular feature of the show. Examples of basket themes include Italian, movie night, baking, gardening, Christmas, coffee, etc.

The Boutique has always been a successful part of the show. There are 30-40 sellers who provide everything from homemade jams, jellies, Christmas items, handcrafted jewelry, knitted and crocheted items, baby quilts and blankets, dolls, handmade cards and tags to one-of-a-kind specialty items. With the larger location, the boutique will have more room for holiday shopping.

For added shopping, there will be 12 vendors providing a variety of sewing and quilting-related items for sale. Fabrics vary from 1930s to reproduction to shabby chic to contemporary.

This year, refreshments and lunch will be provided by Two Moms Catering.
