Ravi Sharma, a senior at Rocklin High School, has been named a National Merit Finalist. Sharma is one of approximately 8,000 students across the country, who is being considered for National Merit scholarships. His selection was based on his 2010 PSAT score. Sharma then competed nationally with a comprehensive application, essay and recommendations from Rocklin High. Sharma is an academic leader on the Rocklin High campus where he is active in Key Club, Science Olympiad, California Scholarship Federation and National Honor Society. He is also a two sport athlete and has lettered in Thunder Cross Country and Track. “Ravi Sharma is one of Rocklin High Schools finest,” said Rocklin High School Principal David Bills. “Even though this is a huge honor, we are not surprised at all that he has earned the distinction as a National Merit Finalist. Ravi’s natural abilities, work ethic, leadership and positive attitude are huge assets to Rocklin High School and our community.” Sharma is awaiting acceptance replies from several top universities across the U.S., including Duke, University of Chicago, Stanford and UCLA. He plans to major in biochemistry with a career goal of working in the science field.
