Rock Creek GATE students receive Target Field Trip Grant

-A +A
Students at Rock Creek Elementary in Rocklin received a hands-on appreciation for art though a recent visit to the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento. Rock Creek’s GATE fine arts pilot program students, also known as Studio 29, were selected as recipients for a $400 Target Field Trip Grant, designed to bring learning to life for students. Rock Creek was selected from more than 25,000 applicants from across the country to receive this grant. The only criteria was that the school educators, Delanne Mathias and Susán Federico, include a description of the field trip and its objectives, the benefits to the students and a tie-in to the school curriculum, among others. The Studio 29 program runs every Tuesday and Thursday, where students learn about art and artists. — Staff report
