Rocklin’s Duvekot latest to sign National Letter of Intent

Senior to play for UC Merced

Rocklin High senior, Nico Duvekot signed a National Letter of Intent last week to play mens volleyball at UC Merced. Duvekot will play middle for the Bobcats at the Central Valley UC campus.

During his high school years, the Thunder boys volleyball team earned the honors of section finalists and a co-divisional champions. Duvekot chose UC Merced for the environmental engineering major offered and his chance to enter a developing, college-level volleyball team.

UC Merced volleyball coach David Noble has high hopes for Duvekot.

“We are very excited to have Nico in our program,” Noble said.

Thunder Coach John Kirk also had high praise for Duvekot.

“Merced will like having Nico on their team,” Kirk said. “He’s always diving on the floor, working hard and making things happen.”

Duvekot is the son of Karin and Marcel Duvekot of Rocklin.
