Rocklin Academy joins Learning School Alliance

Rocklin Academy, an elementary charter school, is now one of 40 schools nationwide to participate in the Learning School Alliance. The National Staff Development Council, a research and advocacy group devoted to quality teaching and student learning, has named Rocklin Academy one of the schools nationwide to participate in its national initiative: The Learning School Alliance. The National Staff Development Council Learning School Alliance will give Rocklin Academy teachers and administrators tools and support to improve their professional practice, increase the academic success of their students, and collaborate with other Learning School Alliance schools also selected for their dedication to professional learning. “This is a national partnership of educators who value professional learning and want to help shape the future of professional development by sharing the best professional development practices,” said Steve Carney, Rocklin Academy director of education. “Creating better professional development opportunities ensures a better future for every student.” The initiative is sponsored by the NSDC and supported by MetLife Foundation. Learning School Alliance will provide Rocklin Academy educators with a number of resources including coaching, progress reports, access to trained facilitators, and guidance at all stages of collaboration. ~Staff report
