The Rocklin High baseball team baseball team jumped all over Nevada Union to win the second game of their three-game series 10-0 Tuesday. The Thunder also defeated the Miners 10-3 in Grass Valley Monday. In the second game in front of the home crowd, Rocklin?s Tanner McVey pitched a gem in allowing only six hits and the defense did the rest. McVey had three strikeouts in six innings and did not give up a walk. Christian Bennett was 4-for-4 at the plate with two doubles and a triple. He drove in six of Rocklin?s 10 runs. Sam Curtis scored three times and Taylour Reidt and McVey both had two of the club?s 13 hits in the contest. ?It?s a matter of being relaxed at the plate and not trying to do too much,? said Rocklin head coach Roc Murray. ?It?s very easy to expect too much of yourself.? It likely wasn?t what the Miners were expecting as well. On Monday, Evan Durgarian, Stevin Cisneros and Patrick O?Keefe had the hot bats collecting eight hits between them. Reidt drove in two runs with a double.
