Rocklin High School boys basketball coach Michael Lorente will return to the bench Thursday evening when the Thunder hosts its annual holiday tournament. Lorente has been in Detroit following the death of his mother. The tournament tips off Thursday with Oakmont playing Fairfield at 3:30 p.m. Woodcreek and Lathrop will battle at 5, Rocklin plays Ceres at 6 and Del Oro faces Inderkum at 8. The championship game is 6 p.m. Saturday. Assistant coach Troy Selvey filled in for Lorente on Tuesday when the Thunder played Rio Americano. Selvey played at Sacramento State and then spent five years overseas in professional leagues.
