-- Susanne Katz, a student at Spring View Medical School, has been accepted into the People to People World Leadership Forum.
Katz joined a select group of students in Washington, d.C. June 21-26 where she participated in small group discussions and exercises to experience how successful leaders develop strategies, build consensus and foster change.

zimmerman’s latest claim to fame is a mention in the issue of Skydiving Magazine, the most widely read magazine on parachuting in the world, he said.

-- Rocklin residents Melanie Noel and Kelly Kizer recently competed in the 1996 U.S. Group Synchronized Swimming Championships in Federal Way, Wash.
Along with their teammates, Noel and Kizer qualified for this national meet for the first time.
Noel and Kizer finished the competition with an eighth-place national standing in the 18-19 age group.

-- Jim Mehl and Paul Barton, 19-year-old adventurers from Loomis, have just returned from a bicycle trip that took them some 800 miles
Both Sierra College students, the young men started making plans for th trip from Oregon to home last December, buying 10-speed bikes, and camping gear.
They were driven to Oregon by Jim’s grandmother, Annelia Mehl, on June 12 and began the journey that would average 50 miles a day.
