The LIFEHouse Church in Rocklin will host FamilyLife’s “The Art of Marriage” DVD series March 8 and 9.
The DVD series takes a look at marriage by combining expert teaching, engaging stories, man-on-the-street interviews and humorous vignettes “to help couples fully experience God’s design for marriage,” said Don Blodger, who is part of the team coordinating the series.
Along with presenting marriage issues from both the husband’s and wife’s perspectives, this series provides time for application through workbook exercises and interaction between spouses, Blodger added.
“We are passionate about marriage,” said Blodger, who will be hosting and coordinating along with his wife, Victoria. “Each of us experienced a very difficult marriage and knows the pain of going through that experience, as well as the cost of divorce, emotionally, financially and, of course, to our children and community.
The Blodgers’ hope is for all attending to come away with a renewed vision and greater hope for a committed and fulfilling marriage through topics and themes of
• Understanding God’s purpose and plan for marriage
• Reasons couples drift apart and why most marriages fail
• Defining and understanding individual responsibilities in a marriage
• Communication and conflict resolution
• Emotional and physical intimacy
• Leaving a legacy for later generations through marriage
