Rocklin Citizens Academy enrollment open
How do you perceive our community? Do you really know how your local property and sales tax dollars are being spent? Do you know the services the city provides? Do you understand its role in making your lives better?
The Rocklin Citizens Academy is a free multi-week community education program for civic-minded residents. Offered by the city, the academy seeks to engage people to learn the ins and outs of city government.
Participants will be introduced to a variety of different city departments and programs.
The Citizens Academy will introduce and explain the roles and operations of a number of major departments and will give participants an opportunity to learn more about what it takes to run and care for a city of Rocklin’s size.
The Rocklin Citizens Academy will begin Oct. 11 in the City Council chambers. The 90-minute to two-hour sessions will start at 6 p.m. each Thursday through Nov. 8.
Graduation ceremonies will be held during the Nov. 13 City Council meeting.
The academy is open to anyone who lives or works in the city. Application forms are available from the city manager’s office, or register at www.rocklin.ca.us by Oct. 8.
