Rocklin duo arrested for alleged theft

Two Rocklin residents were arrested for the alleged theft of $9,589.23 from a Massachusetts business bank account. The Rocklin Police Department investigations unit was contacted by the Pittsfield, Mass. Police Department detectives on July 20 for assistance in an ongoing financial crimes investigation. Pittsfield PD detectives reported that a business in their city had $28,000 electronically stolen from their bank account. The amount of $9,589.23, of total amount stolen, was electronically deposited into a bank account in Rocklin. A search warrant was served at the Rocklin bank, where Rocklin PD detectives learned that Derek Sherrard and Jaymie Sanfilippo were allegedly the recipients of the $9,589.23. On Sept. 2, Rocklin PD detectives searched the duo’s residence on Ridgeview Circle in Rocklin, which led to the arrest of Sherrard and Sanfilippo. They were arrested on charges of burglary and possession of stolen property and booked into the Placer County Jail in Auburn. Their bail is set at $10,000.
