Rocklin evens league record with convincing win over Roseville
The Rocklin girls basketball team jumped out to an early lead over visiting Roseville and cruised to 69-50 victory Wednesday.
Thunder head coach Rob Ferraro was able to utilize his full bench and got scoring from 11 of his athletes. The Tigers mounted a limited rally in the second quarter but couldn’t cut into Rocklin’s lead.
Unofficially, Roseville turned over the ball 34 times, 15 in the first quarter. The Thunder had 15 turnovers and pulled down 36 rebounds to the visitor's 31.
Lydia Summers scored 12, Jordan Purvis 11 and Arin Muhic had nine.
The win evened Rocklin’s Sierra Foothill League record to 2-2 and 14-7 overall. Roseville suffered its 17th loss of the season and is winless in the SFL.
The Thunder travels to Granite Bay Friday to face the Grizzlies. Granite Bay is 1-3 in league having lost to Woodcreek 57-38 Wednesday.
JV _ Rocklin overcame a 28-24 deficit at the end of three quarters to defeat the Tigers 39-31 in the early game.
