More than 40 artists’ work will be on display this weekend as the Rocklin Fine Arts Membership Art Show & Sale comes to Finn Hall.

“We have watercolor, oil, pastel, acrylic, 3-D sculpture,” said RFA President Gini Crepps, ticking off the types of media that will be represented Saturday and Sunday. Each artist will display two works.

This is not a juried show – guests are encouraged to submit their nomination for the People’s Choice Award both days. An artists’ reception will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday with wine and refreshments, and the People’s Choice winner will be announced at 4 p.m.

Another show feature is the Artist Marketplace, where RFA members will sell cards, jewelry, boxes, small paintings and other items they have created. The show is co-chaired by Karen Stegeman and Jer Jarrett.

“We have a membership of about 50 members, and the talent is pretty amazing,” Crepps beamed.

One of those members is Anthony Rogone, a Rocklin resident who hosted a watercolor workshop after RFA’s September meeting. More workshops are planned, Crepps said, including after the Oct. 18 meeting, when travel sketcher Robert Dvorak will lead a three-hour session ($49; visit www.rocklinfinearts.org for details).

“It’s a good opportunity for artists to be part of a good art organization, and to show their artwork,” Rogone said of the association that boasts artists from Rocklin and throughout Placer County.

At the show, visitors can learn more about Rocklin Fine Arts and its efforts to reach even more people through shows, classes and workshops.

“The premise of Rocklin Fine Arts is to branch out into the community as much as we can,” Crepps said, “and offer as many opportunities as we can for artists to participate.”
