Emma Laughlin of Rocklin was recently selected to participate in the 2013 Miss Teen Sacramento/Stockton pageant that will take place Sunday, April 7.

Laughlin learned of her acceptance into this year's competition when the pageant announced its selections following interviewing in the Sacramento/Stockton area. Laughlin submitted an application and took part in an interview session that was conducted by this year's Sacramento/Stockton pageant coordinator.

Laughlin lives in Rocklin with her father, mother and brother. She is homeschooled through South Sutter Charter School. She is a junior this year and is planning on pursuing a career in the culinary arts. Her plan is to attend either Le Cordon Bleu in San Francisco or the Culinary Academy in San Francisco.

If Laughlin wins the title of Miss Teen Sacramento/Stockton, she will represent Sacramento/Stockton and the surrounding communities at the national competition that will take place in Orlando, Fla. Over $30,000.00 in prizes and awards will be presented at the national competition while each winner enjoys the expense-paid trip of five nights and six days.
