The city is once again participating in the Annual Rocklin Community Giving Tree, which helps provide gifts for children in need throughout Placer County.
This is the 21st year for the Giving Tree, which benefits the Placer County Children’s Emergency Shelter. Giving Trees are displayed in the Recreation Office, 5460 Fifth St., and the Civic Center, 3970 Rocklin Road, decorated with “ornaments,” each displaying a child’s wish. People select an ornament and then purchase the gift listed on the ornament, returning the new and unwrapped gift to the city.
“These are kids who are not home for the holidays, for whatever reason,” explained Administrative Assistant Candace Johnson, program coordinator.
Gifts are picked up by receiving home volunteers and then delivered to the children. The deadline for returning gifts is Friday, Dec. 7. For more information, call 625-5167.
