Rocklin continued in the winner?s bracket at the 2012 Section 4 Juniors All Stars Tournament with a 5-4 victory over District 5?s College Glen Monday night. Rocklin 25, Rio Linda 0 What at first appeared would be a battle between two determined teams ended in an unanimous 25-0 victory for Rocklin in the opening game for each. ?Coach said to play our A game and we played it all the way,? said Rocklin?s Jerad Cadell, who had a double and scored a run on Randy Schab?s hit in the first inning. That sparked the offensive and defensive momentum that carried Rocklin throughout the game?s five innings. Rocklin took an early one-run lead and used a tight defense that did not allow Rio Linda to score. ?We just came out from warm-ups playing good ball,? said Brandon Bibler. Rocklin dominated from the second inning and on while running the bases almost at will. Rocklin scored seven runs in the second inning. Wyatt Walsh stole second and home and Will Floyd stole third in the second frame. After Matt Morgan and Blake Lauren reached base Cadell drove them in and Schab earned another run batted in by bringing Cadell in to score. Pitcher Jason Cadell hit a triple to drive in Schab. But Jason Cadell was later caught in a run down and was tagged out by Rio Linda?s Caden Wagner to close the inning. Rio Linda?s hopes continued to fade inning by inning. ?I don?t think we were ready, even in warm-ups? said Wagner, who thinks his team can focus on better hitting and fewer errors. As for Rocklin?s next game, Jerad Cadell was motivated. ?I think we can play even better,? he said with a smile. Each of Rocklin?s players scored a run during the game. Rio Linda was eliminated from the tournament 14-6 by Woodcreek on Sunday.
