Rocklin man who pretended to be a cop facing his sentence

-A +A
A man charged with impersonating a cop is expected to face his sentencing today. Rocklin resident Chad Richard Mowry, who was 26 when he was arrested in July, is scheduled to face a judge at 8:30 a.m. in Auburn’s Placer County Jail courtroom. Mowry pleaded no contest in January to residential burglary and impersonating a public officer, both felonies. The charges stem from an incident where Mowry allegedly approached an Auburn woman and told her he knew prostitution was going on in her home. Mowry told the woman that as a law enforcement official he could make any potential charges against her go away. According to Auburn police, male strippers were visiting the woman’s home from Sacramento, but there was no evidence of prostitution. Timothy Balcom, Mowry’s attorney, said Wednesday Mowry’s recommended sentence is 240 days in jail. The recommended sentence also includes three years of probation. ~Bridget Jones
