Rocklin resident Moore earns prestigious award

Rocklin resident Phawnda Moore, a communication specialist, received the 2012 National School Public Relations Association’s Communication Award for editing, designing and managing the production of a 514 page, self-published book, Bridging the Achievement Gap: What Successful Educators and Parents Do. Her client, author Rex Fortune, PhD, is a Sacramento researcher with more than 40 years of experience in education. The color edition was printed locally. Black and white paperback and Kindle editions are also available on Amazon. Moore specializes in educational projects at Journalism Design, a California state certified small business since 2006. She has worked with seven California authors to self-publish their books. The National School Public Relations Association has been the recognized leader in school communications for more than 50 years. The competition received 701 submissions and Moore’s entry was the only California winner in the special purpose publications category.
