Rocklin Scouts serve up sweet breakfast at Hot Chili

Hot Chili & Cool Cars
-A +A
There’s more than hot chili to eat at Hot Chili & Cool Cars. The Cub Scouts of Rocklin Pack 29 will offer a pancake breakfast from 6:30-11 a.m. Sept. 18. This annual breakfast fundraiser, previously held at the Rocklin Jubilee, is Pack 29’s main fundraiser of the year. Scouts will be serving syrup-laden pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice to the community at the corner of Oak and Pacific streets. Tickets are $4 in advance and $5 the day of the event (children under 5 are free). Tickets may be purchased ahead of time from any Pack 29 Cub Scouts or at tables outside local merchant supporters such as Bel Air, K-Mart, Lowe’s, Nugget, Safeway on Granite Drive, Save Mart, Walgreens and Wal-Mart. The proceeds directly support 70 Rocklin boys, ages 6 to 10, who in turn benefit from the development of citizenship, character, and fitness through the Scouting program. Without support from local businesses, sponsors, and hungry breakfast goers, the event could not be successful. There are many needs for food supplies, cooking and serving items, and scout sales prizes. Cash donations can also be made to help offset printing, area and equipment rental, and other non-donated expenses. For more information or to donate items for the breakfast, contact Jeff Sherer at (916) 342-1823 or jeffreysherer@yahoo.com. ~Staff report
