Interested in taking the stage for one of Rocklin’s theater productions?
The Rocklin Community Theatre will be holding auditions for “The Odd Couple” by Neil Simon at 7 p.m. Jan. 11. Auditions will be held at Finnish Temperance Hall, 4090 Rocklin Road.
Callbacks will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 12.
The show will run Feb. 25-27 and March 4-6.
Characters include:
Oscar Madison — Divorced sports writer, age 43 — A pleasant man who seems to live life to the fullest.
Felix Unger — Age 44 — A fastidious man, recently separated and not dealing well with it.
The following are regulars at a weekly poker game held at Oscar’s apartment. Their ages range from late 30s to early 40s:
Speed — His nickname reflects his need to keep things moving.
Murray — A policeman whose insight allows him to recognize issues and situations that the others miss.
Roy — Oscar’s accountant; he knows Oscar’s financial situation and reminds him of it.
Vinnie — He enjoys the finer things in life, but only if he can get them at a big discount.
Gwendolyn Pigeon — Mid to late 30s; British.
Cecily Pigeon — Mid to late 30s; British.
Gwendolyn and Cecily — sisters and have an apartment in the same building as Oscar.
The Rocklin theater will also be holding workshops and auditions for children ages 8 to 13 for “The Emperor’s New Clothes.”
An information/parent meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 6 and auditions will be held Jan. 9.
The workshop will be held Jan. 9 to March 27. Performances for the show run March 18-27.
