Rocklin seeks volunteers for Saturday's Community Service Day

Rocklin residents, schools, businesses and service organizations are being invited to participate in park, open space, and watershed health projects at parks and other locations throughout the city during the annual Rocklin Community Service Day on Saturday. Projects include storm drain inlet marketing, oak acorn harvesting, Bollard (post) staining, bench installations, Community Garden installation, litter pick up and oak restoration planting as well as willow planting. Check-in will open at 8 a.m. with work projects running from 9 a.m. to noon at various project sites. For information on specific projects, visit the city’s website. All volunteers, age 6 and older, must wear closed-toe shoes and provide their own work gloves. Other recommended equipment includes water, hats, safety glasses, shovels, and hand tools. Be sure to label your equipment! Every individual (adult and child) must register online by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22 or register at check-in on Saturday morning. United Natural Foods, Inc.
