Rocklin softball beats Roseville; has four league wins

Thunder improves to 12-1 overall

The Rocklin High softball team picked up its 11th-straight win by tripping up Roseville 5-1 in the Stephanie LeDoux Tournament last weekend.

It was the second time the Thunder topped the Tigers winning 4-3 March 15.

Kendall Chambers picked up her fifth win of the season pitching all seven innings and holding Roseville to seven hits.

Cali Lewis was 2-4 in the game to include a double and one run batted in. Jaclyn Amader also had two hits and drove in two runs. Kylee Barnes and Sam Moffat also added two hits to Rocklin’s total of 12.

Scoring for the Thunder was Amader (2), Delanie Chrisman, Lewis and Carli Cutler.

Rocklin swept all four of their tournament games. They defeated Roseville and Casa Roble on Saturday and both Del Campo and Foothill Friday.

Casa Roble – The Thunder earned a 3-1 decision over the Rams earlier Saturday.

Lewis and Amader each drove in a run. Amader scored two runs and Dylan Linton crossed the plate twice.

Maddie Wuelfing allowed just one earned run on four hits. The junior ace had 10 strikeouts in the contest.

Del Campo – Friday, the Thunder rolled past the Cougars 8-0 on 15 hits. Amader was 3-4 with a home run and three runs batted in.

Moffat, Lewis, Jillian Lerner, Wuelfing and Cutler each had two hits in the game. Barnes, Amader and Lerner each scored two runs.

Wuelfing gave up five hits while striking out four.

Foothill – In a game played earlier that day, Rocklin rocked the Mustangs 22-0.

Moffat was 5-5 with five RBI. Linton and Chrisman drove in three runs apiece.

Chambers and Cutler provided the pitching giving up no hits in five innings. Cutler had six Ks.

In league play, the Thunder defeated Del Oro 11-1, Roseville 4-3, Woodcreek 3-0 and Nevada Union 11-1.

SFL – Rocklin 4-0 (12-1), Woodcreek 3-1 (8-2), Roseville 2-2 (9-5-1), Granite Bay 1-2 (3-9), Del Oro 0-2 (7-5) and Nevada Union 0-3 (5-6-1).
