Rebecca Bills, Kathy Hong, Lucas Brunner and Eric Lovejoy, all Rocklin High juniors, were recently honored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for scoring among the top 50,000 PSAT test takers in 2009. The PSAT is a practice SAT given once a year at most high schools across the nation. In 2009 there were more than 1.5 million program entrants. Out of the 50,000 top PSAT test takers, about 16,000 will be named National Merit Program semi-finalists, representing the top scorers in each state. Semifinalists then go on to compete for National Merit Finalists and finally National Merit Scholars.
