Whitney High could have another athlete prodigy in their midst with an up-and-coming freshman tennis player. Rocklin’s Konner Macias, 14, captured the boys 16 singles division at the Rollingwood Junior Gran Prix Tournament held in Fair Oaks last month. He defeated Sacramento’s Christopher Yee, 6-0, 6-3, for the title. “I’m happy with my victory because this is the first time I played in an older division,” Macias reported. “I’m looking forward to representing Whitney High School and beginning a tennis tradition for them.” Wildcats fans can also look forward to Konner Macias’ sister McKinna Macias who garnered the girls 12 consolation championship. McKinna, 10, attends Rock Creek Elementary School in Rocklin.
