Tri-City and Rocklin Little League All-Star teams are striving to stay alive in the Northern California Division 2 tournament. Three squads won Monday to remain in contention for advancing. The Tri-City 10- and 11-year-old stars defeated Chico Central 9-7 in Paradise. A two-run single by Kyle McGrath tied the score at 6-all in the fifth inning, and Matt Dennis belted an RBI double in the sixth. Justin Erickson earned the victory in relief, Tri-City then beat Rincon Valley 4-3 on Tuesday and will play Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Tri-City’s 11- and 12-year-olds defeated Sutter 9-4 and will face San Ramon at 5:30 p.m. in Vacaville. The Rocklin Senior stars rolled to a 15-5 victory over Sunrise of Stockton in Sunnyvale. Michael Blattel sparked a six-run outburst in the first inning with a three-run homer. Drake Richie had three hits. Rocklin plays Sutter at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
