Rocklin, Whitney face off on the gridiron

Wildcats bring 1-0 record into Quarry Bowl against the 1-1 Thunder

Rocklin High and Whitney High football teams will play to a packed stadium Friday. Tickets went on sale at both schools Tuesday and have sold out. Approximately 5,000 tickets were sold for Friday’s game. For the first time, the two Rocklin high schools will play each other in the Quarry Bowl, a new event that may become an annual tradition. Last weekend launched the start to the Quarry Bowl with Rocklin Junior Thunder vs. Whitney Junior Wildcats games Sept. 4. Rocklin Junior Thunder was named champions at the junior level. Gates for the varsity Quarry Bowl game open at 4:30 p.m. Friday. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. with no in-and-out privileges. Rocklin fans must stay on the home side of the stadium and Whitney fans must stay on the visitor side of the stadium. ~ Lauren Gibbs
