Players from both Rocklin High and Whitney High 2012 football teams were selected to play in the 56^th annual Optimist Football Game played last month at Del Oro.

Thunder wide receiver Dom Giampaoli and offensive lineman Sam Woods were selected to play for the North. Joining their Rocklin counterparts were Wildcats’ defensive lineman Aaron Froidevaux and defensive back Jordan Powell.

Twelve players from the Sierra Foothill League were select to play for the North squad and nine from the Capital Athletic League. The North defeated the South 61-34 in an offensive spectacular.

Giampaoli caught a 25-yard pass for a touchdown and Powell had an interception in the contest.
