The top eight places in each division advanced to the state meet coming up this weekend. Keefe lost a close decision (7-5) to Calaveras’ Justin Brown in his consolation match. Brown eventually finished seventh and qualified for the state meet. Sean Towe of Union Mine, who defeated Keefe in the quarterfinals, went on to place second. Woods lost his quarterfinal match to the eventual champion, Johnny Schupp of Vacaville. Woods lost his consolation match to Danny Ochoa of Atwater, who placed fourth. At 106 pounds, Rocklin’s Michael Cole fell to that division’s eventual runner up, Jacob Lopez of Elk Grove. Cole also lost a decision in his consolation match.
