Rocklin Youth Theatre Company opens stage

Rocklin welcomes a new youth theater to the performance community. Rocklin Youth Theatre Company has opened a theatre in the Sunset Plaza, located on the corner of Pacific Street and Sunset Boulevard. RYTC will provide training and performance opportunities for various age groups and levels, through workshops and classes and musical and non-musical plays. RYTC will debut “School House Rock Jr.” in its theatre, a workshop directed by Jeannie Larson. Show times are at 7 p.m. Nov. 20 and 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. performances Nov. 21 and 22. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased by calling 632-7197. Coming soon will be auditions for the Spring productions of 13, “The Musical” and “Snoopy.” RYTC is in its fifth year and offers youth theatre opportunities for ages 5 to 18. RYTC’s most recent productions include “Into the Woods,” “High School Musical” and “Beauty and Beast, Jr.” RYTC has earned eight Elly awards for “The Spell of Sleeping Beauty” and “Smile.” The Elly awards are sponsored by the Sacramento Area Regional Theatre Alliance and recognizes outstanding work by area theatres.
