On Feb. 23, the Rotary Club of Rocklin/Loomis Basin held its 20th annual Feast for Rotary Crab Feed.

The event was a near sellout again this year; and the participants left happy and full of their favorite shellfish. The dinner started with green salad and clam chowder, followed by a pasta course, and was completed with all-you-can-eat tiger shrimp and crab.

In addition to the food, this event featured a raffle, dessert auction and silent and live auctions.

The Feast for Rotary is a major fundraising event for the Rotary Club of Rocklin/Loomis Basin, which provides support for local schools and other local and international projects. In addition, this club is building a garden at Lonetree Park in Rocklin that will teach students and other community members about methods that can be used to build a sustainable garden, as a lawn substitute, thereby reducing water usage and the need for pesticides.
