Thursday, June 17 Game Day will be held at the Rocklin Library for teens, kids and families to come play board games from 4-6 p.m. Board games and light refreshments will be provided. Friday, June 18 McLaughlin Studios Spring Dance Recital 2010 will be held at Del Oro High School Performing Arts Theater, 3301 Taylor Road, Loomis at 7 p.m. Cost is $8. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. Senior Video Day features “All About Us.” All movies are shown in Room 106 Fridays at 1 p.m. at the Sunset Center. Thursday, June 24 The Placer County Fair runs through June 27 at the All American Speedway, 800 All American City Blvd. in Roseville. Entrance is free. The fair will be open from 4-11 p.m. June 24, 10 a.m. to midnight June 25 and 26 and from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. June 27. Info: 786-2023 or placercountyfair.org. Friday, June 25 Senior Video Day features “Ace of Hearts.” Daniel Harding is a top officer in his K-9 police unit. For him, the best part of the job is working with Ace, his police dog partner. When Ace is accused of attacking a suspect, Harding and his daughter Julia must fight to defend Ace’s innocence before it’s too late. All movies are shown in Room 106 Fridays at 1 p.m. at the Sunset Center. Oregon folksinger and musician Adam Miller will be featured at 1 p.m. at the Rocklin Community Center. Info: 624-3133. Sunday, June 27 The California State Youth Pageant will be held at 10 a.m. June 27 at Capital City Hotel, 2600 Auburn Blvd. in Sacramento. There will be 11 categories ranging in Baby Darling to Mrs./Ms. Northern California Rep. Scholarships are $1,000 for Miss and $500 for Teen winners. All contestants receive free training in ramp walking, public speaking and skin and hair care. Seniors and children 12 and under can bring at least five cans of food or school supplies in lieu of a pageant ticket. Info: Mary Purvis, director, 721-3824. Thursday, July 1 Sunset Ranch Elementary School will open in the fall. The grand opening will be held from 5-7 p.m. July 1 with a barbecue, tours and an opportunity to meet the staff at Sunset Ranch Elementary, 2500 Brindlewood Drive.
