Students from Rocklin schools participated in this year’s annual American History Poster Contest sponsored by the Sons of the American Revolution. Every year, fifth-grade students from across California and the U.S. participate in the contest, which is designed to stimulate interest in American history. Members of the Gold Country Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will choose the winners among nearly 400 posters submitted by local fifth-graders. A different poster theme relating to the Revolutionary War is highlighted each year – this year’s theme was Paul Revere’s ride. The top posters from local schools will go on to a statewide judging in Orange County in April.
