Ten-year-old Travis Elmont of Rocklin recently earned the Arrow of Light award, which is Cub Scouting’s highest award. While a Cub Scout, Elmont climbed through the ranks of Bobcat, Wolf, Bear and Webelo. Each rank has it’s own requirements and Cub Scouts learn new skills as they advance. A year ago, when Elmont joined the Webelo scouting program, he set a goal of earning every one of the 20 available activity badges. The Cub Scout Arrow of Light award is the only badge that can be transferred and worn on the Boy Scout uniform when a boy graduates into a troop. Elmont recently became Rocklin Scout troop 201’s newest Boy Scout.
