Saturday saw more than 300 Girl Scouts from 41 troops in Sacramento and surrounding counties gather at Granite Oaks Middle School for the Girl Scouts Heart of California 2012 Winterfest.
Scouts in grades six through eight hosted holiday crafts booths for their sister Scouts and families, selling homemade gifts to raise money for their troops, and offering a free craft at each booth.
Items for sale ranged from ornaments and holiday decorations to hair clips made from soda cans and homemade jewelry. The younger scouts enjoyed activities such as face painting and making "reindeer food" that sparkles in the moonlight.
"It's a really fun one," said Program Specialist Lesley Gower. "It's one of my favorite events."
