Scramble for Scholars important for community

Scramble for Scholars is more than just an annual golf tournament hosted by the Chamber each year. Scramble gives us an opportunity to partner with the community to support Rocklin’s graduating seniors in their goal of pursing a higher education, and being prepared for the workforce. The cost of higher education has skyrocketed in recent years, making the dream of seeking an affordable education out of reach for many deserving students. It’s our goal to make sure those students have a fighting chance. Over the course of the past several years, the Chamber has raised well over $100,000 to support higher education for Rocklin, Victory and Whitney high school students. But we haven’t done it alone. We are very appreciative of businesses like Randy Peters Catering & Event Planning who have once again pledged their support for the Scramble for Scholars event coming in as the title sponsors for their seventh consecutive year. Chamber members and area businesses have generously supported this event and now more than ever, we need your continued support. You don’t have to be a Chamber member to participate in Scramble. You can golf, volunteer, sponsor the event or just come out and enjoy dinner and awards at the end of the day – every little bit helps. Please plan to join us for this very exciting and worthwhile day. The Scramble for Scholars golf tournament will tee off on Friday, May 6 at Whitney Oaks Golf Club in Rocklin. Registration begins at 11 a.m. with networking and boxed lunches, followed by a noon shotgun start. Dinner tickets are available for $50 per person for those non-golfers who want to attend the dinner and be part of the raffle, auction and awards events. For more information on how to secure a sponsorship, register for the event, volunteer or make a donation, please contact me at the Rocklin Chamber (916) 624-2548 or online at www.RocklinChamber.com.
