The Sierra College men’s golf team posted a score that would have won the last six Big 8 Conference tournaments, but on Tuesday, the 370 left them nine shots shy of Santa Rosa and in second place. Their third consecutive second place finish in conference tourney No. 10 leaves the Wolverines just two points in front of Santa Rosa in the season points race, with two tourneys to go. The day belonged to Santa Rosa’s Brennon Ramey, who tore up the 6,900-yard Par 72 Silverado North Resort course in Napa with a four-under-par 68 to claim individual medalist honors. Sierra’s Stephen Edman and Kevin Lucas continue to hold the top two spots in league scoring. Edman’s two-under-par 70 all but guarantees his second Big 8 Conference MVP award, a first for Sierra College golf. Lucas carded a solid 72 and A.J. Hasegawa shot a 74 for the Wolverines. Sierra travels to Oakdale Country Club near Modesto Thursday for Big 8 Conference Tournament No. 11.
