A woman claiming to be ex-CHP officer Ruben Salgado’s girlfriend was booked into Sacramento County Jail Thursday. Breaonna Nunez was arrested at the Governors Inn on Richards Boulevard in Sacramento, the same location as Salgado’s arrest, according to Officer Jeanie Hoatson, California Highway Patrol spokeswoman. Hoatson said she could not comment on the charges against Nunez. Nunez states on her Facebook profile she is in a relationship with a Ruben Salgado, who lists his occupation as a California Highway Patrol officer. The highway patrol fired Salgado June 30. Salgado was arrested and booked into Placer County Jail Thursday on a felony charge of attempting to hire someone to commit murder against someone named R.M., according to a criminal complaint issued by the Placer County District Attorney’s Office Monday. Salgado was also charged with possessing methamphetamine, being under the influence of methamphetamine and possessing drug paraphernalia. Also, Salgado is charged with a special allegation of committing a felony while out on bail. Salgado had previously been arrested in May on drug charges and was out on a $70,000 bail. It was not apparent as of Tuesday morning whether Nunez had bailed out of jail. She was no longer listed on Sacramento County’s roster of inmates. Salgado is being held in Auburn’s Placer County Jail and is ineligible for bail. His arraignment is scheduled for 1 p.m. July 28. Reach Bridget Jones at
