Second high school rodeo of the season is this weekend

The second rodeo of the 2012-13 season gets underway this weekend at the Lincoln Rodeo Grounds. It is inter-district with District 1 and District 3 combined and begins 11 a.m. Friday with cutting. District 1 features cowboys and cowgirls from Trinity, Modoc, Shasta, Lassen, Tehama, Plumas, Butte, Glenn, Colusa and Siskiyou counties. District 3 includes Placer, Yuba, Nevada, Sutter, Yolo, Solano, Sacramento, El Dorado and Sierra counties. Following are the results of last month’s rodeo in Lincoln. Senior girls Cutting: Madison Horton from Acampo kept Cheyanne Carpenter out of first place with her 29-point performance. Carpenter totaled 26.5. Just three points behind Carpenter is Hannah Briggs and Samantha McCarley totaled 19.5 points. Barrel Racing – Annie Rose Seifert rode to the top with 30 points with Coral Alberi hot on her hooves with 27 points. Molly Sparrowk collected 23 points, and Carlie Bisby and Cierra McClure each had 17. Pole Bending – Carlie Bisby rode will enough for 29 points with Alex Carpenter riding hard for 28. Cheyanne Carpenter, last year’s All Around Cowgirl, pulled down 23 points followed by Nicole Mackie’s 19. Goat Tying: Macey Cox scored 27 points to beat out Cheyanne Carpenter by four. Seifert came in with 18 and Alexis Lincoln tallied 17.5. Breakaway Roping: Katie Rice of Clements leads after rodeo one with 25 points with Cox just behind at 21. Cheyanne Carpenter again breaks into the top three with 23 points and Seifert garnered 18. Just a half point back of Seifert is Lincoln. Senior boys Cutting: Clayton Brum of Lockeford and Clayton Biglow of Clements racked up 28.5 points apiece to lead the cutting. Chase Bisby picked up 16 points and Chance Denier earned 15. Steer Wrestling: Gridley’s Luke Pfister took a 10-point lead over the pack scoring 29 points. In second was Andrew Madden with 19, Mason Mardesich tallied 17 and Jesse Clark 15. Bull Riding: Brum, last year’s All Around Cowboy, rode well enough to earn 30 points. Trailing him is Robert Braiser, last year’s bull riding champion, with 18. Tie Down Roping: Brum tacked on another 30 points to his totals to co-lead tie-down along with Ione’s Seth Adams. Clark grabbed the third spot with 22 points and Cody Buchanan trailed Clark by one. Wyatt Adams picked up 18 points. Saddle Bronc: Brum was the lonesome rider earning 20 points. Team Roping: Top Header was Tyler Gibbs of Lodi with 28 points. Brum stepped up for 24 and Seth Adams earned 20. Cody Buchanan of Oakdale was top Heeler with 28, Biglow at 24 and Wyatt Adams came in with 20. The top Header for girls was Emma Swift, coming in fourth place with 16. Tess Fanini reined in at 16 as Heeler. Junior girls Barrel Racing: Payton Schoeppach (Lincoln) 20, Hunter Morgan 12, Callie Bisby 16. Pole Bending: Hailey Wilburn (Lodi) 18, Ashley Cooper 14, Allison Geyer 11, Morgan Jetter 11. Breakaway Roping: Grace Swift (Live Oak) 10, Karley Pedley 10, Bisby 9. Goat Tying: Breann Justice (Woodland) 19, Hailey Wilburn 13, Keegan Linke 11.5 Ribbon Roping: Allison Geyer (Durham) 18, Gabrielle Webb 17, Delisa Fracchia 14. Junior boys Tie Down: Sam Seifert (Acampo) 20. Ribbon Roping: Sam Seifert 18, Colton Daniel 17, Caron Williams 8. Chute Dogging: K.C. Morgan (Placerville) 17, Wyatt Dornbush 19, Bryar Bryne.
