Senior softball stars in local spotlight one last time

As impressive high school softball careers come to an end, the Optimist All Star Softball Game has become an annual event, featuring the best senior players from the greater Sacramento area. Wednesday night at the Capital Christian softball complex off Highway 50 near Bradshaw, Roseville pitcher Kiana Levy will let it fly once more before heading off to Texas in the fall. Levy is joined on the North team by Kelsey Mooney of Del Oro; Madison Smith of Granite Bay; Nicole Wilkerson of Lincoln; Leslie Coffee and Jessica Rosnack of Oakmont; Katie Swenson and Summer Powell of Rocklin; Stephanie Nippert, Courtney Galli and Tegan Schmidt of Whitney; and Kelly Rose and Courtney Breault of Woodcreek. The North team is coached by Sharon Props of Del Campo. The game begins at 6 p.m. tonight, and admission is $8 for adults, $5 for students and $3 for children under 12.
