Sierra College gallery to show student exhibition
The Sierra College Ridley Gallery will present the 16th annual “Juried Student Exhibition," featuring a variety of works from student artists.
Selected works will include drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking, digital media, photography (digital and traditional), sculpture, graphic design, jewelry, metal, woodworking and mixed media. This year’s exhibition is juried by Beth Jones and Lynda Jolley, owners of JayJay Fine Arts in Sacramento.
This exhibition is an opportunity for students to get a taste of professional exhibition practices and procedures, to gain exposure and build their exhibition resumes, and have the chance at winning cash prizes and awards. Last year's award winner's included Melba Browne, Larisa Postelnyak, Malayna Galligan and Heather Curtice. This year's awards are provided by the Sierra College Patrons Club, Friends of the Library, Utrecht Art Supplies, Systech Displays and the Associated Students of Sierra College.
A reception, awards ceremony and gallery talk for this exhibition will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 24. Ridley Galley is on the first floor of the Library/LR 102, on the Rocklin campus, 5000 Rocklin Road. The exhibit runs from April 22 through May 22. Regular hours for Ridley Gallery are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Admission to Ridley Gallery is free and open to the public. Parking on campus is $3 – permits are available at parking lot dispensers.
