Sierra College hosting baseball Northern Super Regional

This weekend, Sierra College is hosting the 2013 California Community Colleges Athletic Association (CCCAA) Baseball Northern Super Regional, Site B.
The winner of this double-elimination tournament that starts Friday qualifies for the four-team state championship in Fresno on May 17-18.
This is the first time Sierra College has hosted a Super Regional. The Wolverines have appeared in eight Super Regionals, winning in 2006, 2008 and 2012. Sierra won the state title in 2008.
Host Sierra College (31-7) is the No. 2 north seed. The Wolverines were the 2013 Big 8 Conference co-champions.
Fresno City College (28-10) is the No. 3 seed in the north. The Rams are the 2013 Central Valley champions.
Feather River College (26-12) is the No. 7 north seed. The Golden Eagles captured the 2013 Golden Valley Conference title.
Cabrillo College (20-19) is the north’s No. 7 seed. The Seahawks are the Coast-Pacific Conference co-champions.
The tournament begins at 11 a.m. Friday, with Sierra vs. Cabrillo. Game two features Fresno City vs. Feather River at 3 p.m.
Games continue Saturday at Sierra College and an off-site location.
The Wolverine Baseball Complex is located at Sierra College’s Rocklin campus, 5000 Rocklin Road, Rocklin.
Recommended parking is to the north of the football stadium off Sierra College Blvd.
